Instructor Rating Ground School Course, 2010 Edition

Updates, Amendments and Revisions

Some copies of page 92 of our Instructor Rating Ground School Course have an offset printing margin that results in the upper left edge of the page having some content cut off for the first paragraph. The complete text of the first paragraph of page 92 is as follows:

One useful application of VOR principles is taking a POSITION FIX. A position can be verified by finding the intersection point of two LINES OF POSITION (LOP). An LOP is also known as a BEARING. A VOR radial represents a magnetic track (or magnetic bearing) away from a station. When the track bar is centered, with a FROM flag, the selected radial will be a line of position from the VOR station. To take a fix, take two VOR indications with a centered Track Bar and FROM indication, and draw in the identified radials. Use the VOR Compass Rose as a reference. Where the two radials intersect will be your position.
